Cancer and cancer research is difficult to understand for most non-scientists. Researchers tend to have difficulty putting their findings into words we can understand, and doctors can find it challenging to discuss our medical situation in simple terms.

Back in 2011, a young woman who had been diagnosed with juvenile GCT travelled to New Zealand and spent five weeks as an intern shadowing researchers who were working to understand the nature of GCT. During that time she compiled a text that presents the science behind understanding GCT in terms and a manner that is more understandable for many of us.

“GCT for Dummies” remains a good entry point for those who are newly diagnosed.
