4 October 2019 — Patients Die While Docs on Hold

This is an article about problems faced by doctors trying to get insurance companies to pay for treatments. It focuses on one situation, a woman with GCT who wanted to join a phase II clinical trial. The author is Dr. Barbara Goff, who spoke recently at the OCRA national meeting as part of the rare ovarian cancers panel.


3 September 2019 — Clinical trial for GCT begins recruitment of patients

This is a study of a drug called onapristone extended-release (ER) being conducted by Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSKCC). If you are interested review the information available for trial #NCT03909152 in the NCI clinical trials database entry. Note that there is a crucial inclusion criteria that your tumour must have PR expression ≥1% by IHC on archival tissue taken within the prior 3 years. (Your clinician should have access to that information if you do not have your pathology results).
